Hawaii news reporting the Hawaii tsunami warning is all over Hawaii tv stations and Hawaii newspaper updates. The Washington Post reports the Hawaii tsunami warning was issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center at highest alert. Warnings are also in effect for American Samoa, Guam and other Pacific islands.
The first Hawaii tsunami warning waves are expected to hit at about 11:19 AM this morning. Shelly Ichishita, spokeswoman for the Department of Defense Civil Defense Division, stated about the Hawaii tsunami warning, “It's a big concern. We're taking this very seriously.”
With regard to Hawaii evacuation zones, Ichishita said, “The evacuation zones are predesignated in telephone books. We have maps and predesignated tsunami zones. It's based on historical data showing they are susceptible to tsunamis.”

White House spokesperson Robert Gibbs stated about the Hawaii tsunami warning and Chile earthquake 2010, “We are closely monitoring the situation, including the potential for a tsunami. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Chile, and we stand read to help in this hour of need.”
After the Haiti earthquake, the Hawaii tsunami warning and Chile earthquake 2010 are upsetting disasters that make us think of the greater force around us.
